Animals of the Tarot: Birds & Flying Creatures with Cecily Sailer
Wednesday, April 23 / 6:30-8:30pm CT
The Tarot is filled with nonhuman beings — cats, dogs, salamanders, falcons, snails, and more. But our human gaze primarily focuses on the figures we relate to most (the humans!), so we tend to overlook the richness that nonhuman beings bring to the practice of divination.
Of course, humans have been relating to animals for all of our existence, and cultures across space and time have developed their own symbolic significance for certain animals. These significations are inscribed as well in what Carl Jung would call the Collective Unconscious.
In this workshop, we’ll explore the birds and flying creatures that appear in the Smith-Rider-Waite deck, noting how their presence enhances the meaning of the card, and speculating on how their absence might alter our experience of the archetype.
To attend, join the Creative Magic Collective for $33 or $55 per month. You’ll have access to all other workshops hosted by Typewriter Tarot, along with weekly gatherings for journaling, creativity, and Tarot practice, plus discussion spaces, a whole learning library, and more!
Expanding Resilience with Breathwork
with Cecily Sailer, Brenda Lee Gauthier, and Sam Pullen
Saturday, April 26 / 3-6:30pm @ Flow Yoga Westgate
This integrative breathwork experience offers a deeply personal journey that guides you out of your busy mind and into the natural energy and wisdom of your body. Through a combination of breathing techniques, rest, and evocative music, you’ll release energy from unhelpful recurring thoughts, unprocessed feelings, old stories, and trauma, allowing you to shed what no longer serves you.
Through circular, connected breathing and evocative music, somatic breathwork moves you into an expanded state of consciousness, where your Inner Healer becomes your guide, helping you release stuck emotions through movement, visions, and vocalizations.
You’ll tap into your body’s natural healing power, clearing away the barriers, pain, and defenses that keep you from showing up authentically in the world.

The History of Tarot with Christopher Marmolejo
Wednesday, May 7 / 4-6pm CT
Tarot’s history reaches back to medieval Europe, when wealthy Italian families began commissioning artists to create unique and fanciful playing card decks that would evolve over the decades and centuries to become tools for oracular visioning and divination.
Join one of the most preeminent Tarot practitioners, writers, and teachers of our time, Christopher Marmolejo, for an exploration of Tarot’s history, including images and stories from archives housed around the globe. Christopher is the author of Red Tarot: A Decolonial Guide to Divinatory Literacy. Their work and writings draws on decolonial, queer, crip, and feminist theory to help us see the Tarot in a new light and help us use Tarot as a portal to imagine new worlds of liberation.
Christopher draws on academic wisdom, multiple esoteric and healing traditions, and pop culture to build radical connections within our Tarot practice.
Register here for $35, or join the Creative Magic Collective for $33 or $55 per month. You’ll have access to all other workshops hosted by Typewriter Tarot, along with weekly gatherings for journaling, creativity, and Tarot practice, plus discussion spaces, a whole learning library, and more!
Creative Wholeness with Cecily Sailer
Wednesday, May 14 / 6:30-8:30pm CT
Our relationship with Creativity experiences TONS of interference just in the course of living our lives. We get so many mixed signals about creativity and innovation — when to use it, for what purpose, to what ends, when it matters and when it doesn’t. the general, overall effect for most people is kind of fraught relationship with Creativity, even while the desire and passion is still there.
We carry wounds, internalized messages, expectations that aren’t even aligned with who we are, and often some judgment too (Inner Critic and perfectionism, anyone?).
In this workshop, I’ll guide us through a map of what I’ve come to see as the key ingredients for creative restoration and wholeness. I don’t use the term “wholeness” to imply that something or anyone is broken, or that wholeness is even possible. (We are always in flux, always negotiating balance.) But this journey will help you see which areas of your creative life are healthy and flowering, and which could use a little love and attention.
Register for $17 here. Members of the Collective — this is already on our calendar!
Stay Tuned…
Here’s what we’re exploring in our monthly workshops through 2025.

JUNE 🌞 Creative Coven — Summer Solstice: We honor and celebrate Summer Solstice, moving through a ritual of reflection, divination, and soaking up the energies of the moment to nourish our creativity and magic.
JULY ⏰ Rebelling Against the Tyranny of Time (with Tarot): Time is both a real thing we experience on Earth, and a construct! Capitalist constructions of time keep us hurried, harried, and crazed. We’ll deconstruct, reframe, and reimagine our relationship with the clock.
AUGUST 🧙🏼♀️ A Brief History of Witchcraft: Let’s time-travel together and become more acquainted with the history of witchcraft — and various definitions of what the term “witchcraft” even means. Come away with a new reading list and personal questions you’re curious to explore in relation to the witches who came before us.
SEPTEMBER 💸 Money Magic: Join money energetics coach (and CMC member) Nadine Zumot helps us get curious about relationship with the BIG DOLLAR, the human abstraction that pervades our lives! Through meditation, somatic exploration, and journaling, we’ll identify an element of our “money psychology” that could use a little love and attention.
OCTOBER ♎️ Reading Your Natal Chart with Tarot Archetypes: It’s possible to recreate and represent your astrological natal chart through all 78 of the Tarot archetypes. I’ll guide us through this process of laying out your chart. We’ll look at how the cards talk to one another across your chart and what that reveals about your nature, your life path, and your “work” in this lifetime. With lots of reflection questions to help you deepen the inquiry afterwards (if you like!).
NOVEMBER 🥀 Grief as a Portal for Magic & Creativity: We make space for one of the most challenging emotions we experience as humans — and we honor our grief through writing, ritual, and creativity, inviting the alchemy that’s possible when we honor the wide expanse of our loss and love.
DECEMBER ❄️ Creative Coven — Winter Solstice: We close out the year with a guided ritual honoring and celebrating Winter Solstice. We’ll reflect on our latest turn around the sun, and invite deeper reflection through the winter months as we prepare and dream for the year to come.
